Contractor Requirements

  • There are no registration fees
  • All contractor requirements must be submitted before a permit will be issued.

Plumbing Contractor

  • Plumbing contractor must be licensed in the State of Illinois and provide a copy of the 055 license and a letter of intent.

Roofing Contractor

  • Residential Roofing contractors must be licensed by the State of Illinois and provide evidence that such license is valid. 
  • Commercial roofer must provide a copy of their unlimited roofer’s license.

Paving Contractor – Blacktop, pavers, or concrete

  • Provide a Certificate of Insurance with the following coverages:
    • Public liability insurance for one person in the amount of $100,000 and for one accident in the sum of $300,000 or a combined single limit of $300,000.
    • Property damage insurance in the amount of $50,000 limited to not less than $10,000 for each accident.
    • Surety company bond payable to the City in the penal sum of $10,000
    • List the City of St Charles as the certificate holder.

Sewer and Water Contractors

  • Certificate of Insurance – same requirements as a paving contractor
  • Surety company bond payable to the City in the penal sum of $10,000
