New Online Portal for Licensing and Special Events Coming Soon!

The City of St. Charles is excited to announce that we will be moving to a new online portal for license applications, annual renewals, and special event permits, with an anticipated launch date of February 2025. More information and guided instructions will be available on this webpage as we get closer to the launch. 

Business Licenses

The City of St. Charles does not require general business licenses; however, certain licenses may be required for certain businesses.

The types of businesses required to obtain a business license are outlined in Title 5 - Business Licenses and Regulations of the City Municipal Code. 

Liquor Licenses

Liquor licenses are managed by the Mayor's Office. The Mayor also serves as Liquor Control Commissioner.

Chapter 5.08 of the City Municipal Code outlines classifications and requirements for liquor licenses.

Special Event Applications

Thank you for your interest in holding your event in the City of St. Charles. St. Charles is the location of choice for numerous events each year that attract visitors, support our local businesses, and build community spirit.
