August 2024 Police Updates
- There has been an increase in Criminal Damage to Property throughout the city. The St. Charles Police Department reminds you to be vigilant and watch for any suspicious activity. If you see something, say something, and call 911.
- Officers are always working to proactively prevent crime. 308 Crime Prevention Notices were issued during the second quarter of 2024. These notices are helpful tips to remind people of things they can do to help deter crime, such as locking their car doors.
- Thank you for everyone for supporting St. Charles Police events and activities benefitting Special Olympics Illinois. Members of the Department organized Cop on a Rooftop in May, which raised approximately $5,200. Our officers also participated in the Torch Run and went to Bloomington-Normal in June to assist with the Summer Games and to support the athletes.
- In June, members of the St. Charles Police Department participated in a basketball tournament against Addison Police Department to raise money for C.O.P.S – Concerns of Police Survivors. C.O.P.S is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists with family members who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. They also provide assistance to co-workers and departments that have had a line-of-duty death. More information is on their website concernsofpolicesurvivors.org
