Update - 01/23/19

At this time, the City has retained WBK Engineering of St. Charles to complete final engineering design, which will incorporate replacement of the water main and the sanitary sewer, as well as storm sewer improvements and roadway reconstruction.

In 2016, the City requested information from property owners through a questionnaire.  We will be taking the questionnaire responses into consideration to the best of our ability as we move forward.  Specifically, tree removal will be avoided where possible and sidewalk improvements will not be included.

Stormwater Management & Pollutant Discharge Reduction

The City of St. Charles holds a General National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit from the Illinois EPA for stormwater discharges from its municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4).  To protect water quality, the MS4 Permit requires that the City develop and implement a stormwater management program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from its stormwater system to the maximum extent practicable. Links are provided below to the City’s MS4 Stormwater Management Plan, Notice of Intent to comply with the MS4 Permit, and annual reports.

Update - 8/21/18

The pipe installation and excavation work has been completed.  City crews will be installing the new cables and transitioning over to the new system over the next two weeks.  All field work and landscape restoration is expected to be completed within the next three weeks.
