At 10:21 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the St. Charles Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire in a townhome located in the 500 block of Pheasant Trail. The first unit arrived on scene five minutes later and reported an active fire on a second-floor deck that had extended up the vinyl siding on the rear of the building. The townhome and adjoining residence were searched and confirmed all occupants where safe outside the building. The majority of the exterior fire was extinguished by the first arriving fire companies within three minutes of their arrival.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 719 Oak St. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  The test will begin at approximately 11:30 A.M. and finish by 12:00 P.M. the same day. 

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 3025 E Main Street on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.  The test will begin at approximately 8:30 A.M. and finish by 9:30 A.M. the same day. 

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 584 S. Randall Road on Thursday, November 10, 2022.  The test will begin at approximately 9:00 A.M. and finish by 10:00 A.M. the same day. 

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 411 Smith Road on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  The test will begin at approximately 8:00 A.M. and finish by 9:00 A.M. the same day. 

The St. Charles Fire Department responded to a single-family home at 1565 Independence Court at approximately 10:46 am on Friday, October 21, 2022 for a report of fire in a residence. The first St. Charles fire unit arrived on the scene in less than four minutes and found moderate fire in the attic space above the attached garage. The firefighters worked to bring the fire under control in approximately ten minutes. The fire was contained to the residence and caused approximately $35,000 in damage to the structure and contents of the home. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at 3823 Karl Madsen Dr. on Monday, October 24, 2022.  The test will begin at approximately 9:00 A.M. and finish by 10:00 A.M. the same day. 

Mature adults 65 and older are three times more likely to die in house fires than younger adults. Having a working smoke alarm cuts the chances of a serious consequence by fire in half. Do you or your loved one’s age 65 and older have working smoke alarms?

The St. Charles Fire Department is partnering with the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance to increase senior safety by providing smoke detectors in homes of older adults living within the City of St. Charles.
