7/15/24 City Council & Government Operations Meetings Canceled

Due to Severe Weather Forecast

In anticipation of severe weather this evening and to ensure everyone's safety, the City Council and Government Operations meetings scheduled for tonight, July 15, are canceled and will be rescheduled for next Monday. Therefore, the City Council, Government Operations, and Government Services meetings will all be held Monday, July 22.

City of St. Charles attends to storm damage, prepares for impending second storm

7/14/24 Storm Damage

The City of St. Charles continues cleanup after a powerful storm struck Kane County on July 14. After the storm, several City departments, including Public Works, the Police Department and Fire Department, responded to storm-related service calls. The Southwest quadrant of St. Charles โ€“ the area south of Main Street and west of the Fox River โ€“ was hit hardest, and experienced the worst of the cityโ€™s storm damage.

โ€œWith another powerful storm forecasted for this evening, the City is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety,โ€ City Administrator Heather McGuire said.

July 4th Fireworks

Where to Watch, Roads Closed, Parking Restrictions

The Annual July 4th Fireworks will be launched from Langum Park, at 7th & Madison Avenues in downtown St. Charles. Fireworks will be launched at dark and can be seen along the Fox River, with the best viewing locations downtown St. Charles, south of Main Street. Memorial Day Closures

Offices Closed; Main Street Closed for Parade

City offices are closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.ย 

Main Street Closed for the Parade - 10 a.m.
The parade steps off at 6th and Main streets, continues to Riverside Avenue, concludes at the Riverwalk Freedom Shrine.ย  Main Street will be closed to traffic and a detour route to Illinois Street will be in place. Police officers also will be posted at various intersections to assist with traffic direction.ย
