Underground work is completed.  Roadway and sidewalks are reopened.  KDOT is working with the contractor for rework of some of the concrete in the southbound lanes that will eventually require short term lane closures.

Update - 07/11/17

Pole testing continues in the south west quadrant of the City this week.  The contractor has completed about half of the pole inspections.  The City appreciates the cooperation from our residents as we perform this important reliability related inspection.

Update - 6/20/17

All conduit has been placed and backfilled, and all lanes of traffic are open.  The northbound shoulder will open this week.  Landscape restoration will start late the week of June 19 or early the week of June 26.  The right southbound lane and southbound shoulder will need to be closed for three more days in the future to complete the pavement work, but that date has not yet been determined.

Update - 6/15/17

Update 6/15/17 – Anticipated construction work for the week of June 19-23:
East Side Streets

  • Banbury Avenue and Court – Saw cutting of concrete/pavement to begin.
  • Bent Avenue - No work at this time.

Update - 06/01/17

The pavement in the center of the road and the median has been poured and concrete is curing.  Next week (June 5), the right northbound lane and northern shoulder will be closed for the placement of the final section of conduit within the roadway.  That pavement is planned to be poured and curing the week of June 12 so that all lanes and shoulders will reopen soon thereafter.
